To join the community supporter training program using the SSLD approach

Program Goals:

– Training program participants to become a community Supporter to help newcomers and refugees towards overcoming their problems.

– Building support system within the community

– Reducing barriers to seeking help for newcomers and refugees by providing direct services

Program requirements:

– Fluent in Arabic, English (minimum benchmark level 6)

– Attend and follow program schedule minimum 20 hours of training.

– Must complete co-op hours in Syrian Community Centers to obtain a training certificate.

Program benefits:

– Assisting in community supporter Program Certificate from the University of Toronto and Syrian Community Centre.

– Canadian experience in social worker filed which will help you to secure job in the future.

-Graduation Ceremony – will be Covered by Canadian and Arab media to introduce you to the Syrian Community as a community supporter.

– Syrian Community Centre will follow up with graduates to share their experience and help with securing a job opportunity.
